A Venetian nobleman’s wife has died, but he suffers from hallucinations and goes on thinking that she is still alive. The relatives try to have him certified as a lunatic to get hold of his wealth. But a friend finds him a girl who resembles the dead wife. When the nobleman becomes sane again he wants to get rid of the girl. He succeeds by an original, amusing stratagem…
